Lecture by Rob Shirkey entitled: “Can a Simple Sticker help us act on Climate Change?” Rob discusses the psychology, economics and law behind his organization’s proposal to have municipalities pass by-laws that would require climate change warning labels on gas pumps. The talk is followed by an audience discussion moderated by Eric Rumble, Editor-in-Chief at Alternatives Journal. Climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity today, yet we remain largely complacent in the face of this challenge. Our Horizon, a new Canadian climate non-profit, hopes to change that with a simple yet revolutionary campaign to move communities in a more sustainable direction.

Mr. Shirkey will be speaking at the world-renowned Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo, and will answer questions on our by-law which was recently included as an item for further consideration in the Waterloo Region Climate Action Plan.
